Field Trip

Today, my class went on a field trip to Lincoln Center to see a "poetry slam", which is an event where people read their poems to an audience. At the poetry slam there were three poets competing in 3 different rounds to have the best poems. In each round, there had to be a host to announce the poets in each round. So at the start of each round they "traveled back in time" and got a host. In the first round, the host was Cleopatra. In the second round, the host was Albert Einstein. In the final round, it was William Shakespeare. Also, in each round, they recited the same kinds of poems. For example, in the second round, They all wrote poems in the forms of letters to people they admire. Also, in the third round, they all did poems that were based off of one line of a poem written by a famous poet.

After the poetry slam, we ate lunch at Central Park. We ate on a huge rock formation. After we were done with our lunch, we played capture the flag, with a narrow and shallow trench as the territory line That meant that to get to enemy territory, you would have to jump the trench.
