The Season of Testing is Upon Us

This week, we have the ELA State Test on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I have different opinions about the State Test.

Rube Golberg Presentation

Today, Rube Goldberg's granddaughter, Jennifer Goldberg, came to our school. She gave a presentation about her grandpa, Rube Goldberg. She told us all about Rube. He was a cartoonist, and at the end of his career, he was a sculptor. He was most famous for his Professor Butt's cartoons in the newspapers all across the country. They were sketches of a whole series of things to complete a simple task. Fun Fact about Rube Goldberg: Only a couple of his "inventions" were actually created.

Dyker Heights!

Yesterday I went to Dyker Heights with my friend Owen. At Dyker Heights, there are many houses with amazing Christmas displays. We went to get pizza and ice cream at Spumoni Garden. The ice cream was huge!

When we left the restaurant, we were amazed. There were amazing lights all around! One display even had a giant blow-up Rudolph on the roof. Also, there were some storm troopers dancing with bunny hats and Santa hats on.

Prince Fielder Trade

Teams have been starting to trade players with each other since it is the postseason. The Detroit Tigers made a crazy trade with the Rangers. The Rangers gave the Tigers Ian Kinsler and the Tigers gave the Rangers Prince Fielder!

New Blog Found!

I recently found a new blog that I am very interested in. It is about 100 ways to improve the New York City Subway System. All of these ways to improve the system were thought up by a guy named Ben Kabak in 100 days! He may be invited to speak at the transit museum. The Curse of the Billy Goat

The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series championship for 105 years. Some people think that this is the result of the following event in 1945.

A tavern owner named Billy Sianis came to a Chicago Cubs game and brought his pet goat with him. The smell of the goat was bothering other fans. As a result, the security of Wrigley Field( the Cubs stadium) insisted that he leave the stadium. He got mad and said " Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more." By this he meant Cubs would never win another World Series ever again. The Cubs still haven't!
