This week, we have the ELA State Test on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I have different opinions about the State Test.
I think that teachers, parents, and politicians apply too much stress over the State Test. They make kids nervous with their comments about the State Test looming ahead and such. In reality, the test isn't that hard and takes only 90 minutes out of your day. Then, the rest of the day you don't have heavy work. When you go home, you can lounge around because homework will be pretty light. What's bad about that?
I think that the test is crucial, since the tests show people what you've been learning and if you've learned everything that you're supposed to. Without the test, officials would have no idea if you're ready for the next grade. If you're not ready, then you won't be pushed to the next grade, you'll be in your current grade for one more year. Many people think that staying back a grade is bad, but it's better than falling behind even more in the next grade.
These are my opinions about the State Test. It isn't as bad as it seems.
