Dyker Heights!

Yesterday I went to Dyker Heights with my friend Owen. At Dyker Heights, there are many houses with amazing Christmas displays. We went to get pizza and ice cream at Spumoni Garden. The ice cream was huge!

When we left the restaurant, we were amazed. There were amazing lights all around! One display even had a giant blow-up Rudolph on the roof. Also, there were some storm troopers dancing with bunny hats and Santa hats on.

Prince Fielder Trade

Teams have been starting to trade players with each other since it is the postseason. The Detroit Tigers made a crazy trade with the Rangers. The Rangers gave the Tigers Ian Kinsler and the Tigers gave the Rangers Prince Fielder!

New Blog Found!

I recently found a new blog that I am very interested in. It is about 100 ways to improve the New York City Subway System. All of these ways to improve the system were thought up by a guy named Ben Kabak in 100 days! He may be invited to speak at the transit museum. The blog shows good improvements such as hand sanitizer in the subway station and gave comparison to the subway system in San Francisco. Here is the blog address: http://improvesubway.tumblr.com.

The Curse of the Billy Goat

The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series championship for 105 years. Some people think that this is the result of the following event in 1945.

A tavern owner named Billy Sianis came to a Chicago Cubs game and brought his pet goat with him. The smell of the goat was bothering other fans. As a result, the security of Wrigley Field( the Cubs stadium) insisted that he leave the stadium. He got mad and said " Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more." By this he meant Cubs would never win another World Series ever again. The Cubs still haven't!

Daylight Savings!

Daylight Savings Time ends this Sunday, November 3rd. So turn back your clocks! When Daylight Savings Time ends, you turn back the clock so that it gets light earlier in the morning and dark earlier in the evening. Daylight Savings started during World War 1 in order to save energy for war production, taking advantage of the later hours of daylight.

Baseball!

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now in the world series!" The World Series has started! It is the Red Sox and the Cardinals! It is Game 3 and Boston won the first game and the cardinals won the second one. Tonight is Game 3.

Checking Out Middle Schools

I will be starting middle school next September and I'm deciding what school I want to go to. Last Thursday, I went on a tour to Mark Twain Middle School. The line for the tour was several blocks long! When we finally got in, we went to a classroom and heard about the Computer/Math talent. It sounds so awesome!  In Computer Programming, students use a cool program called Scratch. They also build and program Lego Mindstorm robots, which was only relaeased a few weeks ago! Also, students get to make 3-D buildings on the computer, which they might be able to print out, since the teacher is planning to get a 3-D printer!

My San Francisco Vacation

Over the summer, I went to San Francisco, California and I stayed at a house in Marin County. In Marin County, it is incredibly hilly. To even get out of the driveway, you had to climb a GIANT hill! When you drove up the driveway, it felt like you were going to slip all the way down. It was super tiring climbing the hills without a car also. My mom and dad said that the walk into the main part of town wasn't very long. They were probably right, but it was so hilly that it felt like we were walking for a very, very long time.

Postseason!

Yesterday was the last day of  the regular season. Here are the teams that won their division: Red Sox, Tigers, Athletics, Braves, Cardinals and Dodgers. Today, whoever wins in the Texas against Tampa Bay game tonight makes the playoffs.

The Mets beat the Colorado Rockies last night, 5-0! Yes!!!

Minecraft

I am now going to start posting about minecraft. Minecraft is a game where you place and break blocks.  It is awesome!

I finished my last part of science testing today! Now all of my testing is done!

THE TESTING IS OVER! Finally I have gotten through 440 minutes of testing! But( groan) I have to do the same next year :(

ELA TESTING IS FINALLY OVER!!!!

 ELA testing is finally over! Next week we have math but for now I can basically kick back and relax.

VERY BORING TEST NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

Next week we are having the _____ test. It continues for 6 DAYS!! It is one of the most annoying things I have ever done( trust me, I know, I did it last year).

Post Spring Break

My Spring Break was super AWESOME!!!!!!!  My ousin and aunt came for 3 and a half days, I had a great Easter, and stayed at my grandma and grandpa's house for 2 days. I also went to the museum of natural history, watched night at the museum and went to the Bronx Zoo!

Over spring break, I am not going on a big trip. The only place I am going is that I might go to my grandparents house for Easter. If I am not, I am still having my aunt and cousin over from Sunday to Wednesday!

Pi Day

Yesterday was Pi Day. My class had a pizza party to celebrate. We also watched A Wrinkle In Time. It was AWESOME! My mom said she might bring a chocolate mousse pie but she didn't. :(

New Stuff In My Pokemon Diamond!

I played Pokemon Diamond last night. I beat Roark, the rock gym leader. I think now my Totodile will listen to me! It was getting annoying when he "pretended not to notice"! I also evolved my Chimchar( Picture 1) into a Monferno( Picture 2)!
